What to expect at your wax removal appointment
Please allow 60 minutes for your appointment.
1. To understand your ear health, the pharmasist will start by asking you a few questions about your ears. They will then look at your outer ear, ear canal, and eardrum using a video otoscope. They can capture photos and videos at this stage, if required, and these could be given to your GP or ENT.
2. The pharmacist will demonstrate the tools to be used for wax removal and explain how they work. It is essential to sign a consent document before starting any ear wax removal.
3. Once you are comfortable to go ahead, the pharmacist will use the video otoscope, along with microsuction, to gently remove any surplus ear wax.
